My opponent has supported Chapter 100 bonds that now add up to over $636 MILLION in tax abatement for corporations, including tens-of-millions for apartment developers. His vote is on record in support of this.

Apartment developments should NOT be receiving these incentives while homeowners receive no tax relief.

My opponent has voted to rezone commercial use land to R-3B Apartment Community Residential. Residents have long been against this and his record has not changed. He has also voted in support of apartment developments while overloading Ward 1, yet wants you to think he has changed his tune. 

Our commercial and retail land space is shrinking quickly and being given to apartment developers while straining our infrastructure, city services, and school district. Additional development of apartments is quickly tilting the housing mix in the wrong direction.

My opponent has taken financial contributions for his campaign from a developer building multiple new apartment communities in Raymore. He has also refused to abstain or recuse himself from discussions and votes directly impacting approval of these developments.

This is unacceptable. Elected officials should remain above reproach in all they do and clearly represent the people.

Many of us are fed up and feel our voice is not heard. My opponent has continuously ignored the people of Ward 1 during his previous time on council and planning and zoning. I commit to being a voice for YOU. Elected officials work for THE PEOPLE. We must be present and proactive.

The existing policies of our city government are not working. We have no retail master plan. We continue to eat up prime real estate with industrial and apartment developments. My opponent has been directly involved with these policies for years. It is time to make change
